Improvements to mychild.gov.au

The Minister for Early Childhood Education and Child Care, Kate Ellis, has announced significant improvements to the Australian Government’s online hub for parents - mychild.gov.au.

The website has been upgraded to display contact details for all Child Care Benefit approved services and include information on child care vacancies, a mapping function allowing parents to locate each child care centre on a map and obtain a ‘street view’.

These improvements will help parents make informed decisions about their child care and early learning options.

From early 2010 mychild.gov.au will also include a child care estimator to help families budget for their child care costs. This tool will give families an estimate of their Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate entitlements, as well as their out-of-pocket child care costs.
