The new national body will implement and manage the integrated national regulatory system. From January 2012, it will:
- advise the Ministerial Council for Education, Early Childhood Development and Youth Affairs (MCEECDYA) on the National Quality Framework, including any amendments for consideration
- ensure consistency in the application and enforcement of the standards and rating levels
- do broad research and evaluation activities
- educate and raise awareness among the sector and broader community
- drive continuous improvement among services
- reduce the regulatory burden on services
- manage a national register of approvals and national data on assessment and
regulation of services.
